This is the newest painting I'm working on, it's almost done. Almost! I wanted to share a backwards time lapse of sorts so you can see the progress of it... Backwards. Things get subtracted with each shot. This painting has taken awhile. Each color is a few layers to achieve that "flat" look. With dry time between layers I speed up with a hair dryer. I'm also adding blends to this new stuff so it takes longer.
I had this in my studio and the light was coming in the window on it in such a way that standing behind the canvas I could see the whole design in silhouette. Something I will play with soon.
This is before the foliage was added in to the to and left side
Loved the peep of red but needed to draw the viewers eyes all over the canvas. Composition is so important.
Built this one from the bottom UP, much like plants grow. I wanted this piece to have an explosive feeling of life and growing.
Early on, you see how some of the paint requires a few more layers. It's important for each piece to grow and become better than the last. I think I've learned quite a few things from this one that have spawned new ideas for the next.
Thanks for following this piece, I'll update with the finished work next.
