Simple Sundays

Dreaming in the sun...why not?

Even though Sundays are technically no different from a Monday to a self employed person such as myself...they hold a different power. Maybe because my whole life it was regarded as "day of rest" whether that actually happened or not...but I give it that power these days.
I slow it down. I decline doing things I don't want to do and I actually do try to rest a little more. Its particularly pretty today so maybe at some point I'll take a walk or find a nice spot to do what Tuco cat is doing...laze and daydream in the sun.
I saw a great show last night and actually don't feel tore up from the floor up today! πŸ™Œ
I like to reflect on the weeks highlights on Sunday and take inventory of what the week brought to my shores:
I accomplished using the GoPro camera and jumped into video editing. This will be a process but I started the ball rolling.πŸ™Œ
Started a new painting and am working on it today. πŸ™Œ
Made time for friends and loved onesπŸ™Œ
Saw Ozzy with a dear friend πŸ™Œ
Saw MC50 with my man πŸ™Œ
Went mushroom scouting all week and found some cool mushies.πŸ™Œ
Happiness level is high and I owe it all to mindfulness and disengaging from things that are pointless. Life feels shiny right now.  🌞
Enjoy the day...the magic day that is Sunday.

It's the little things...

I will eventually get back to posting about art πŸ˜‚ but I lost my first pound with just 3 days of dedicating myself to Metabolic Renewal...and this is me playing fast and loose because A. I did not buy their shakes I'm doing my own. So I don't really know their caloric/nutrition value vs mine. B. Getting 10,000 steps a day on my pedometer.... doesn't happen. That's almost two hours of walking a day. I get 8,000 or 9,000 before the Texas heat or work calls it off. C. Haven't followed any of the meal recipes. I've been winging it with good sense. I will get closer to their instructions in time ( like maybe next week) since I paid for it. My body is SORE AF. It's totally getting put through the paces and I'm lucky there are modifications for pudgy newbies like me. But 1st lb down is a good feeling because seeing the scale move down is what I'm after. I'm pretty proud of myself for yesterday in general..did my workout, a walking session THEN WENT ...

The New Way

Had a wonderful time at the Artists Showcase and Home Tour on Thursday. It was a great reminder of the new "Im worth it" path I've taken. I really feel like the artists were well taken care of and promoted and enjoyed the event very much. Here was my little curated space: All the artists got their own little spaces to create and show in this AMAZING house. I had lots of great windows and light in my space. Even though my endometriosis pains were popping in intermittently- I stood and smiled and chatted with visitors and fellow artists. These three were my largest pieces there and looked great on the spacious walls.   These look great together- I hope whoever eventually buys them is able to get both of them. Its a fun horizontal/vertical juxtaposition. The food was IMPECCABLE...the cake makers made these elegant cakeballs in various flavors and used each of the artists works to decorate the tops. I have arrived! My art is edible! Ther...

Don't believe the hype!

Don't believe the hype! This is a blog about the way things ARE and the way they should be The way things are: An artist supplies work to a gallery. Let's break this down in real world terms...an artists supplies a sellable product to a gallery (retail environment).  The client buys the product.  There are 3 entities involved artist gallery client   The way things should be: Each entity should be considered equally important and no greater or lesser than the other. Artist promotes to their greatest extent. Gallery promotes to it's greatest extent and Client supports at their greatest extent= $$$. Sounds like a logical way of coexisting and making things run correctly however it isn't always the case if hardly ever. Usually someone does not pull their weight and the $$$ never happens at the end of it. Sometimes the artist is treated like a lesser equation in the process. The gallery would be what without the artists work? A bunch of empty walls. So...
