You Do You

Prints Prints Prints! Its been a fairly good week taking care of business. Cyber Monday sale went great and prints and small originals were collected. Got my Mom just about moved in to her new place and a fridge was given to her- YAY! Some negativity got interjected into my world but a friend took me for out for tacos- so balance is restored in my Universe. No one knows the shit I've been through and struggle with daily so negativity just can't be put in my mixing bowl. It can't. I just throw that ish right outta the bowl. Nope. This was one of the most trying months Ive ever had to deal with and I don't have the energy for anyone else's bad vibes. But back to the good- raised a lil something for Direct Relief on Giving Tuesday. Something is better than nothing. ❤ Got a nice tip for my prints- woohoo! And help from a friend which is always much needed. Got my rent covered another month thanks to everyone buying from my Shopify shop. Now I

You Rock!

"Untouched Depths" COLLECTED        YOU GUYS ROCKED MY WORLD! Wow- you guys really rocked my Black Friday- Small Business Saturday- Cyber Monday sales! I didn't have any expectations and kept being pleasantly surprised up till the end last night. Prints, Original Art- you snatched em up. I've already had to go to the print shop to replenish and might have to go back today. Its a very special feeling when your friends support your business ❤ Some of the sales were from strangers so THANK YOU for sharing my work with your friends. I'm on cloud nine that Im able to use my art and hands to make a living yet another month.    "Monterrey", framed mixed media on      paper- COLLECTED Today is GIVING DAY so Im not going to compete with charities and hope everyone gives if they can. But I will quietly say my CYBER sale will extend through this week for anyone who missed 30% off art...and I'll be listing some fresh stuff today. It was too busy ye

Home Sweet Home

My Mom got into a house! This post will only make sense if you've been following the ordeal that is my life. Great news- we had a Thanksgiving feast at my house and she went to her new little house afterwards. I am slowly landing back to Earth it feels like. I neglected my own life and work to attend to the crisis. I hadn't painted or posted any art on Instagram...no selling prints and barely a joke...I was on autopilot with a mission to find them a house. I didn't really feel like a human through this whole thing. It was really weird. But mission accomplished and I get no rest- back at work eaking out a living. Thanking everyone who donated to her fund, sent leads and advice, physically helped her move and loaned us a dolly. I'm wishing everyone well over the Thanksgiving holiday and hope to return to my own art very soon. ❤

Rock bottom blues

The useless art of looking for housing Since my last post I've been mired with a fruitless task that I've taken on myself. Find someplace for three people to live. Those three people being my Mom and two brothers. I'll say right now they were not dealt a good hand in life and my brothers suffer from mental issues, etc. Physical disability, ETC. They need help but they need to go get that help-that's nothing I can do for someone else. Bad credit ✔ Dont have IDs ✔ Low income ✔ Smokers ✔ So everyones optimistic leads of senior living facilities, low income Section 8, etc....impossible. This is a whole other world of despair which I hope no one knows. I did what I could. And when the judge said you got 7 days to clear out or we'll clear you out I scoured the internet even harder than I already had been but found nothing to fit their level of need. I raised a good little chunk to help them move. Rented a Uhaul, got a storage facility secured and began the painful t

And so it begins

Detail of larger fabric collage piece Ended the week finishing and turning in another work project. This was a tiered fabric collage that looks deceptively easy but was in fact very time consuming and precision work. I learned about the magic of freezer paper and fusible backing and got some ideas for my own personal work so win-win. Always learn, always experiment. I'm entering into busy season and will not have time for play (much) but Im resigning myself to it and thinking of the bigger picture...finances and getting away from the edge of the cliff. Next week will be digital projects, some studio painting for work and a local wall logo/mural. Ive also got a commission painting this month and getting those records squared away. Im busy- Im booked.. but that's great...so begins the next round of bills and rent. Working today and looks to be pretty weather. Take time to smell the roses no matter how busy you get. 🌹
