paint like the wind

Small painting "uno", just Sold " obscura negra" small painting on canvas, available "Return of Pandaflower" painted record, available Various painted records I'm amassing an army of small colorful hand painted goodies. Why? I've been invited to participate at Deep Ellum Arts Fest next weekend. I'll be doing something there... Can't divulge what yet... but if you're looking to collect small affordable art by me this is your chance! After this I'm going on lockdown getting ready for my art shows at Kirk Hopper Gallery and Latino Cultural Center.  I'll post more info about where to find me as I get it and just about everything will be $100 and under. From Lemons to Lemonade

Oak Cliff Native and Artist Patricia Rodriguez teams up with local Mom n Daughter bag designing company to spread Art, Nature and a Can Do spirit When I first got a snarky comment from what I call an "internet troll" about my artwork looking like "bedsheets" I wondered why someone would bother joining my fan page just to be negative. When it happened again, same troll....I decided to use this negative energy and take her words to heart. After all, my art would look great on fabrics and textiles right? Her negative comments coupled with lots of supportive ones fueled me to figure out just how to get my art printed to fabric. Once that was done... Then what? This painting of mine... Became this dress!  Thanks to my super talented fashion designer friend Gloria Rose for the amazing dress made from my design, I could now literally WEAR my art to my art receptions! Dress: Abi Ferrin   Model : Jessica Giles   Art on Dress: Me Just finished a charity project that was quite a challenge! I hand painted a designer dress by Abi Ferrin  that will go up for auction next month at the Art From The Heart event benefitting Dallas Challenge , which helps kids stay off drugs and stay in school. A worthy cause and one I hold close to my heart as both my brothers have fallen victim to drug addiction, I'm sad to say. Although painting on the dress was tough I think it came out well for my first try. Thanks to my lovely niece Jessica for modeling it for me, I hope whoever wins the dress bid loves it! I'm still moonlighting as a muralist by day, working on a giant car mural with artist Duke Horn This thing is so big it won't fit in one shot!  At some point soon I'll have to switch gears and focus on my own painting though, I have two shows to get ready for and need to bring my A game. Spring is for Getting Busy!

I haven't blogged in a long while, let me tell you why... My laptop went kaput! All I have to work with is a tablet and typing on it is trying at best but I'll keep it short, sweet and to the point. I have finally got the tote bags into production! I'm very excited to be working with Debbie Do and Ali Too to get the Spring totes into the world!
