Mute that!

It was fun to paint this commission and listen to Prince tunes in my studio. It's important to remember to have fun. That even though it's "work" it can still be fun. It's how you approach it.
Pushing hard to get records off my plate because big design projects are closing in. Last week was a total beating but I'm proud of myself for pushing through, rising above and not letting others negativity even touch my balloon. Can't pop it. 🎈 Zen level achievement for me- usually I stress and get distressed. My blood pressure issue has me saying NOPE to any negativity and condescending stuff.
Mute the negativity is how Im dealing right now.  I'm in control. Its Sunday and I'll be knocking out records today and doing some meal prep for the week. So far so good in the health department- even though my blood pressure is whack right now- no stabbing pains.
That alone is GOLDEN. And will be what I hold onto as I cruise into the next week.
I've got $90 and bills to pay but fingers crossed some magic appears. Maybe some prints will sell or a Nigerian prince will send me all his money. 😂
Keep on keepin on- it will get better.

Words!

Hello! I haven't blogged since last year. Even writing the word "blog" felt foreign and weird! I have actually been writing stuff on my Patreon account so if you've missed the updates you can sign up for free over there. There is also an option to pay a few dollars a month to help support me as an artist and get "extra" content- in case you are of that mindset and either way- thank you for caring about the art adventures.  I have missed blogging actually. I guess I like to make words, string them together like a pretty necklace and let them live their own expressive life wrapped around me.  Times are different. Times are weird! But I guess you know that. And also times are the same and as old as time. Is it really more terrible than any other time or are we humans just more "connected" to the propaganda and daily bad trip in a way that is insane and unhealthy? Either way I do my best to keep my sanity and I don't believe about 98% of what I s...

Taming the monster

What started as me deciding to spend 30 minutes picking out clothes to donate from my closet .. Turned into about 2 hours of folding t shirts, jeans and deciding winter was far enough away that all sweaters and coats could be packed away. My closet was a walk-in diaster. My cat had lived in it all winter, knocked stuff down, slept on it, fuzzed up clothes and built forts. No lie.  I had been living in the same two pairs of jeans and 5 shirts off my bedroom floor (closet #2 😂). First things first, all the T shirts from OLD JOBS were the first to get put in donation pile. I don't need memories of "that place" and they were all too small, waaay too large or tan/beige/grey ..all the wrong unhappy colors that just say JOB when you look at them. Bye! So that happened yesterday. Major project that still needs work but for now it is peaceful enough to my brain to leave it alone. I have two large loads of laundry to do because my clothes look like...well like a cat has been sleep...

The calm during the storm

Fist Pumps! Cool rainy weather has hit Dallas. Just in time for the opening of the State Fair of Texas and Oktoberfest...which I just happened to be at yesterday by happenstance. Oktoberfest that is, not the Fair. No, I did not have any bier. I did have a fun time walking around between biergartens and weiner dog races in the rain with good company though! I had to drop off my piece "FLOURISH" to a place in McKinney Tx called ORISONS who will be having a gallery walk in a few weeks. There were a lot of people down there for the festivities so they wanted the work to show off to all the traffic. It's been quite a week(end) and I just wanted to pop off a blog to say thanks to everyone who has been supporting by coming to the shows and making purchases and just high fiving me on facebook, etc. THANKS SO MUCH! I've been working my tail off in the studio- that's the part you don't see...but hopefully you can see it in my work when it's done. All the t...
