Grabbing Good Vibes

       Work in progress: commission

It was a fairly productive weekend in the hive. Made progress on this Buddha commission piece and finished the last already-paid-for vinyl record piece.
    Manic Street Preachers commission

This week ...no matter what...I have to turn my financial brouhaha into a win. So up early today to post some new stuff in the shop and do some strategic planning.
The Buddha is actually the perfect thing to work on right now, it's good vibes and challenge totally made me forget my empty bank account and I had a little break from stress.
More Buddha today! Also making sure to carve out time for reading...the latest book I started is this one:
Man have I missed reading! This is book number 3 so far this year. Not bad for my first month of 2019! Now if I can squeeze in some music time the good vibes will be in full effect!

Should have new stuff posted in the Shopify later so check it out my friends!

Addicted

Well it's official. I am addicted. Luckily to nothing horrible. It was bound to happen. I'm addicted to the morning walk...the endorphins...the serotonin...the "me" time....the solitude....the music pumping in my ears...the nature I see and feeling like I control my day.  I'm usually up before the sun and getting as much mileage as my body allows. Sometimes it's more than others but it's always good. I'm going to add in more sprints here and there as "burst" exercises are better for me than long running sessions.  Yes, even on the weekends I'm out doing it. There is no sleeping in and admittedly I woke up at 2:30am and started having my morning coffee in preparation... Even though I will wait till much later to go out. That's how I know it's an addiction.  Currently on Week 6 and haven't missed a workout or even postponed it. I showed up for myself and made myself a priority every morning. I am proud of that and so much LESS...

Everything in it's place

One of photographer Franks Lopez's vintage cameras Last week was a whirlwind of deadlines, bus trips and fun...all culminating in an art show on Saturday night and two glasses of celebratory wine for all my efforts. I had set a goal for three new vinyl works  to be done in about a week and actually made that happen (actually make that 4!). Normally 3 new vinyl pieces would be nothing for me to do in a week but I had challenged myself to work outside my realm of expertise and delve into the world of LED lights, epoxy, drills, bolts and other fascinating construction. The end result is that I can now push my vinyl creations further - the finished piece was well received! Sales were made and sales are pending and a whole new crowd has been exposed to my work. YAY!  I found myself modeling for local photographer Frank Lopez last week and was thrilled because I like his work very much. He was doing "tintypes" and I got to see the whole process in action as well as ex...

2026 Petty Edition

I just missed blogging here. On Patreon it's always a focused point and hits people's mailboxes directly and I feel like I might be bothering them  This is more Dear Diary let me dump my brain out here.  It's 2026 and I am on point and focused on a goal. I'm a harpoon heading for my mark and I've already done the hard part of getting accepted into my goal- The Other Art Fair . If you know me you know I have put in the time, the hours, weeks, months and years. I've sacrificed everything and stripped away everything stoically to the barest essentials to be an artist.  Lost social scenes, Fair weather friends and missed out on experiences. Some of that is alright. Some of that is painful. I can definitely only keep friends who understand I am that weird friend you hardly see who is walking a monks path to my destination. I have a dream and purpose and lots of people do not. I am aware of my time here and my gift to use and some people think time is endless and...
