Read it and Reap

Only those who read this blog will reap the benefits of what I'm about to say here...

As you all know I've been hustling and bustling to get ready for the Sacred David Bowie Art Show that's happening this Saturday. I won't lie and will fess up that I procrastinated a whole month before starting my pieces which led to me finishing them on the ACTUAL DROP DATE! Sometimes I roll like that. Sometimes I need pressure to push me. Under Pressure....doo doo doo dee da dooo dooo...da doo doo doo dee dah doo doo. Sorry. Anyway....as a result I had to turn in my pricing list BEFORE the pieces were even created. This led to three things....
1. I underpriced my light up Bowie piece I worked so hard on and threatened my very sanity
2. I overpriced my other two painted vinyls.
and last but not least....
3. If you read this blog and come up to the show on Saturday wanting either one of the above pieces and say the code word "Aladdin Sane" I will sell them to you for $65 as opposed to the $80 label price. Yep. Yep I will. If you don't read this and want one of the pieces then you'll never know you could have saved yourself some money to go eat at Taco Cabana or buy a martini or whatever.
Today I'm going to figure out my little SQUARE app thingie I got so if you want to pay with your high tech credit card you should be able to. ALSO* If you want a Bowie record in a similar fashion- message me and I can make one for you. You can even tell me what colors you want the background, etc. This is what I'm doing for a living right now so feel free to message me and we'll work within your budget. OK, hopefully see some of you on Saturday! I got a sneak peek at some rad artwork for the show yesterday and the night promises to be really fun!

Words!

Hello! I haven't blogged since last year. Even writing the word "blog" felt foreign and weird! I have actually been writing stuff on my Patreon account so if you've missed the updates you can sign up for free over there. There is also an option to pay a few dollars a month to help support me as an artist and get "extra" content- in case you are of that mindset and either way- thank you for caring about the art adventures.  I have missed blogging actually. I guess I like to make words, string them together like a pretty necklace and let them live their own expressive life wrapped around me.  Times are different. Times are weird! But I guess you know that. And also times are the same and as old as time. Is it really more terrible than any other time or are we humans just more "connected" to the propaganda and daily bad trip in a way that is insane and unhealthy? Either way I do my best to keep my sanity and I don't believe about 98% of what I s...

The Age of Upgrade

BIG BATCH OF HAND PAINTED WAX FOR SAN FRANCISCO I wanted to do a  blog about the upgrade I'm doing and why. Because I am an artist and not a business person I have been lax on so many things I shouldn't have been and caused myself a lot of headaches. This was a year of growing pains for my business and days before my birthday I decided my new age of 39 would be one of grand changes. For starters...I'm typing this on an old Android phone. It's the only equipment I have. My old Mac finally gave up the ghost and I can no longer do any graphic designing in Photoshop or even save files. This will need to be upgraded, I need a computer. Let's talk about vinyl though...I started doing the vinyl about 6 years ago and they were pretty basic novice attempts at painting on vinyl. After many experiments, failures and tons of practice... I have brought them into their own. They started as $30 discs and climbed as I got better. I marked everything DOWN to $50 this year...

The calm during the storm

Fist Pumps! Cool rainy weather has hit Dallas. Just in time for the opening of the State Fair of Texas and Oktoberfest...which I just happened to be at yesterday by happenstance. Oktoberfest that is, not the Fair. No, I did not have any bier. I did have a fun time walking around between biergartens and weiner dog races in the rain with good company though! I had to drop off my piece "FLOURISH" to a place in McKinney Tx called ORISONS who will be having a gallery walk in a few weeks. There were a lot of people down there for the festivities so they wanted the work to show off to all the traffic. It's been quite a week(end) and I just wanted to pop off a blog to say thanks to everyone who has been supporting by coming to the shows and making purchases and just high fiving me on facebook, etc. THANKS SO MUCH! I've been working my tail off in the studio- that's the part you don't see...but hopefully you can see it in my work when it's done. All the t...
