It's the little things...

I will eventually get back to posting about art 😂 but I lost my first pound with just 3 days of dedicating myself to Metabolic Renewal...and this is me playing fast and loose because A. I did not buy their shakes I'm doing my own. So I don't really know their caloric/nutrition value vs mine. B. Getting 10,000 steps a day on my pedometer.... doesn't happen. That's almost two hours of walking a day. I get 8,000 or 9,000 before the Texas heat or work calls it off. C. Haven't followed any of the meal recipes. I've been winging it with good sense.
I will get closer to their instructions in time ( like maybe next week) since I paid for it. My body is SORE AF. It's totally getting put through the paces and I'm lucky there are modifications for pudgy newbies like me. But 1st lb down is a good feeling because seeing the scale move down is what I'm after.
I'm pretty proud of myself for yesterday in general..did my workout, a walking session THEN WENT TO WORK...did not eat delicious cinnamon cream cake someone brought and did PAYROLL work after work...then ate just 1/2 my dinner EARLY. So I've inadvertently done an intermittent fast. Who's a good girl? This bish!

Ok I promise more art- less weight loss posts but this is my life and what's on my mind right now.
Without health there is no art. Everything is connected. ❤️

  1. I'm glad you're working on getting healthy. The body feels so much better when it's taken care of. I never focus on pounds, only on avoiding sugar, dairy, and gluten. It makes such a huge difference. I'm not totally off sugar and dairy anymore, but I plan to be. Making those changes can be so hard. I lose too much weight when I cut those out, so I still put sugar and milk in my coffee and I use butter and occasionally cheese. Keep up the good work. Health is important! Don't stop sharing!

    1. Thank you so much! Yes it would be so hard to cut sugar and half and half from my coffee 😭😂 but I forsee a weaning off. I know it's sugar holding me in place on the scale. Cheese I love...but I'm shooting for a lifestyle change and better health so trimming the little things here and there and realizing it's going to be a process, not a race. How I had the best art year

  This was the year I got rejection letters from every open call I applied to. Granted, it wasn't very many I applied to because I am very picky about what I sign up for AND I am also very jaded about these things of late.  However, this was my best art year to date and I kinda love that it was all rejection notices this year and I STILL HAD THE BEST ART YEAR EVER. Takeaway: Today's open calls are very "agenda based" and the jurors they choose to judge have their agendas. Some want more millennials and younger artists and shun the older artists, some want you to tackle race, gender identity, politics, feminist, pro this or that.... And my art does not. I'm going to stick by  my "Nature is more important than most bullshit" stance till I die because the very atom of life and Nature is more important in my eyes than most of the stuff humans do to feel more important than another group.  But I digress!
