Paint fest up in here, up in here....
I just primered two records in beautiful banner red and am waiting for them to dry 10 minutes before I bring them in. It's too easy to stink up your whole house with Krylon if you bring the stuff in too early. I decided I had a few minutes to kill so I wanted to blast off a quick gratitude blog.
The mailman just came, he dropped my graphic design check in my mailbox and tapped on the door and hurried away. There was a package and in it a small canvas and some cash. A new little project! I am to paint on this canvas for someone and they paid before the job was even done. AWESOME! I can't say who because it's for a gift. Secrets.
I also got an order to paint a record of a sweet doggie, my first doggie! Was also Paypalled up front. Add that to the punk rock record I completed and was Paypalled up front for and I am liking my little business right now. This wipes away some of the bad experiences I have had recently where people asked me to do work and then zipped away without paying. UGH!
The last two months have been fruitful, graphic design jobs, people buying Bowie art, prints, small pieces, hour swaps and requesting new records and paintings and a surprise DJ gig that paid well. I can only say that I can do what I do because of YOU. If you have thought of me when you decided you wanted some art, a gift for a friend, a dj for your party or club...if you have passed my name on to a friend, showed them my work and given me a good recommendation...THANK YOU! I am only able to do the good work of painting for a living right now because all of you make it possible.
Grateful. Thank you.
(Not high on Krylon fumes man, I promise!)
It's because YOU rock, your art is fun, affordable, well executed, original, and dammit, it makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteAw, that make me happy! :) THANK YOU!!!!
